To create the TcpipClientSupport registry entry automatically
- Run a trial migration.
ADMT checks for the prerequisite system changes including the TCPIPClientSupport registry key.
- When prompted for permission to make changes, click OK.
To create the TcpipClientSupport registry entry by editing the registry
- While logged on to the primary domain controller (PDC) or the PDC emulator in the source domain, click Start, then click Run
- In the Open field, type regedit, and then click OK.
Caution
- Incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your system. Before making changes to the registry, you should back up any valued data on the computer. You can also use the Last Known Good Configuration startup option if you encounter problems after manual changes have been applied.
- In Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\LSA
- On the Edit menu, click New and select DWORD Value.
- On the Edit menu, click Rename and type TcpipClientSupport.
- Double-click TcpipClientSupport.
- In Value data, type 1 (the numeral one). In Base, click Hexadecimal, and then click OK.
- Close Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.
Notes
- This registry entry is needed only for interforest migrations that use SID History.
- You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group to complete this procedure.
